Common questions

Where can I download Alba?

Get Alba on Google Play for Android 11 or later. You can also build it yourself from the source on GitHub.

Which shared albums does Alba support?

Alba supports iCloud Shared Albums. Shared Photo Library is a separate Apple feature and isn’t supported. Access to an album depends on the Apple Account you sign in with.

Does Alba back up my photos automatically?

Alba can back up new JPEG camera photos over an unmetered connection. Automatic video backup, additional formats and folder selection are still being worked on. Manual uploads support more photo and video formats.

What do I need to use Alba?

An Android phone running Android 11 or later, and an Apple Account with access to your photo library. Sign-in supports two-factor authentication. The app is available in English and Italian.

How do I report a problem?

Open an issue on GitHub or email support. Include your Android version, what you were trying to do, and what happened.

Please leave out passwords, verification codes, account details and personal photos. For a security issue, use private vulnerability reporting.

Is Alba made by Apple?

No. Alba is independent and uses unofficial APIs. It isn’t affiliated with Apple or Google.
